No processing of personal data
Within the scope of app usage, no personal data within the meaning of Art. 4 No. 1 GDPR is processed.
Lost Chapters is an offline audiobook player that allows users to play and manage audiobooks they have purchased from third parties and stored on their devices.
Processed and stored data:
- Audiobook files that the user copies into the app’s document directory
- Metadata contained in the audiobook files, such as chapters, covers, duration, narrator, or author
- Playback position per audiobook
- Playback status per chapter
This data is processed and stored locally on your device by the app until you delete it within the app itself or uninstall the app.
No data is transmitted by the app to us.
Data provided to us by Apple
As part of the Apple Developer Program, Apple provides us with anonymized and aggregated usage data via the App Store (e.g. the number of installations and device or country statistics).
This data is provided by Apple exclusively in aggregated form and contains no personal information from which conclusions about individual users could be drawn.

No Third Parties, No Tracking
The app includes no advertisements, no analytics, and no third-party software. Within the app, no tracking, no reach measurement, and no profiling are carried out by us.
Internet Connections
Data transmission takes place exclusively within the framework of Apple services provided by the operating system.
This includes in particular:
- access to the Apple App Store (e.g. for app updates)
- loading of On-Demand Resources (ODR, e.g. demo audiobooks from Apple servers)
- as well as other system-level connections automatically established by the operating system
The app itself does not implement any own network functionality, does not establish any independent internet connections, and does not transmit any data to its own servers or third parties. A possible data transmission takes place exclusively between the user’s device and Apple as part of using these system services.
Your Rights
Since we do not process any personal data in the context of using the app, no data subject rights under Articles 15–21 GDPR apply to us in connection with the use of the app (e.g. access or erasure).
